Beer of the type Doppelbock in 0,75lt bottle
Sublime like the eagle
Doppelbock beer which was matured in a used Merlot barrel. Extremely complex nose and body, wonderful to replace a strong red wine or dessert wine.
is a strong, rich and very malty German beer. There is a light and a dark
variant. The darker versions have deeper malt notes. The beer is strongly
aromatic. It often has toasted aromas and light notes of caramel, there is
almost no hoppy aroma. There may be a light aroma of dark fruit and / or
chocolate. The color of the beer varies from intense gold to dark brown. Ruby
nuances are sometimes also seen. The foam is high and creamy. Many variations
are rather malty, but should show a good degree of fermentation. Carbonation
varies from balanced to moderately weak. The beer is very soft and delicate,
without rough astringency. This type of beer is a Bavarian specialty,
originally produced in Munich by the Paulanerorden monks. The historical
versions were less fermented than modern interpretations and consequently had a
greater sweetness and a lower alcohol content. The term "Doppelbock"
was coined by Monaco consumers.
